hi hi hi sisters ♡ okay this email is going to be full of movies and music and links, so buckle up!!
also I woke up this morning a good 45 min earlier than my alarm because I had a nightmare ??? hello ??? I thought that only happened to children… but I used that time wisely and cleaned our stove. so I guess it worked out
I got this vase from ikea, i’ve been eyeing it for MONTHS and I finally got it and I love it so much. even empty its just beautiful, but with flowers its stunning
this is a jam-packed week ladies
movies: starting off kinda weak, I watched the last three quarters of moneyball with bjørn, and tbh I dont think I missed much from the first half. its the 20th anniversary of shrek 2, so bjørn and I saw that in theaters and honestly it was SO fun. there was a little kid in front of us that was loving every minute and it was cute to watch. I watched love at first sight, its on netflix, and I high-key LOVED it. my heart was fluttering, I cried, british people are perfect, I highly recommend. alyssa and I saw wicked little letters in theaters (theres not much out these days) and it was quite cheeky and cute. pretty predictable but very enjoyable and funny. bjørn and I then did a double feature saturday night and watched bring it on, but that wasn’t gay enough for bjørn so we then watched bottoms. I forgot how much I love bring it on, truly a classic (a little problematic but truly so good), and then i’ve expressed my love for bottoms already, but if you havent seen it I urge you to watch it!! and lastly, for movie church, we watched the girls state documentary. the boys state documentary came out a couple of years ago and this was just released this year, and it was cute!! high schoolers are powerful
podcasts: idk whats going on, but I am very much into skin-care these days and just learning more and more about it. I really liked this episode with doctor heather rogers and what she had to say. I listened to a new podcast just this morning called a day in her life, I found it through a newsletter I read called platonic love. the co-founders of the newsletter were the guests on this specific podcast episode. i liked hearing how people spend their time and how they balance between motherhood or relationships and work and I found it to be a very productive and inspiring conversation.
also shout-out to my friend hillary!! she and her friend sav just started a podcast called hope he’s not listening where they are sharing dating experiences in their 30’s. their first episode comes out this week!!
music: I have so much music to share, i’m almost overwhelmed for you guys, but lets get into it
sabrina carpenter came out with a single called espresso. its so fun and girly and screams of summer!!
maggie rogers came out with a new album this week, i’ve only listened to a couple of songs but I really enjoyed so sick of dreaming and the kill. the vibes remind me of like late 90’s/early 2000’s women pop and soft country and i’m really liking it!!
I’m a couple of weeks behind but maya hawke has a couple of singles out for her upcoming album that comes out at the end of next month. I LOVE missing out. truly so so so good, her voice is velvet
suki waterhouse, well first off she had her child and wow I can’t believe that robert pattinson is a dad, okay she also came out with two singles and they are both fun! I hope she is coming out with a full album soon
LASTLY, while watching love at first sight there were a couple of songs in the movie by a girl named morgan-harper jones, and her voice is sooooo lovely. I listened to the couple of albums she has put out thus far and I enjoyed them a ton
i’m loving how many women are releasing music right now, and taylor drops her new album this week!!!
in my mind: this eclipse picture is truly breathtaking. I hope that you were all able to see it at least a little bit!! also, should we be getting worried about measles?
in my stomach: i made this pasta recipe with bjørn and holy cow it was YUM! it was quite time consuming/a little labor intensive (you just have to be on watch the entire time) but it was worth it!!
okay this is already quite long so I will make this section short(er)!!
I recently came across this little guide to some cute shops in a specific brooklyn neighborhood. and it made me realize (again; i’ve realized this before) that there is so much to see in the city I live in that I haven’t done yet and so much I don’t even know about- especially in other boroughs. I could spend every day after school just wandering and still never see everything. I think its important to sometimes be a tourist in our own town/city. its easy to get used to our environment and cultivate a desire to leave and explore the greater world out there, but we don’t even take the time to explore the other side of Manhattan- let alone Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx. this summer I want to prioritize exploring neighborhoods I never venture into, if anyone has any recs for cute stores and neighborhoods, please drop them in the comments!
tiktok: an unexpected but lovely duo; god bless miles; these high schoolers popped off; I love new york (and humans in general)
pinterest: these little women sheets might become a need; my daily dream; a full on MOOD; also i’ve been eyeing black sambas for quite some time now and wow I just cant commit
instagram: holy COW, she is so stunning; MY science guy; some days this is the vibe; these dogs conducted an orchestra with their tails !!!
hehe, sorry for making it seem like billie eilish loves me more than anyone else last week. she put all of her followers on her close friend’s story; great marketing tbh. and shes coming out with a new album on May 17th!!
ALSO, knee update, its still being funky, but i’ve been doing the elliptical and stationary bike for now, I think I need to work on strength training before I get into “harder” cardio
xoxo,
your big sis, kaitlynn
Thank you so much for listening, Kaitlynn! So glad you liked the episode!
Just seeing this — thank you for the lovely review and so glad you enjoyed the ep!
