#83: last week of school, maybe ever?!
some happy news, pretty food photos, and the song of the summer
hi hi hi sisters ♡ this is my last week of law school classes, so that means this is my last week of classes possibly for forever (I have no current plans on going back to anymore school so yeah)!! that’s kinda crazy to think about to be honest.
I still have finals next week and then i’ll get right into studying for the bar and then graduation and then june and july will be bar study. come june and july I will probably only write for my substack every other week as my life will 1) be busy studying but 2) not that eventful beyond studying. in other news of studying, you’ll have to check out the adulting section
recommending these note, like WOW these are gorgeous and so peaceful
movies: I read through mockingjay and now am embarking on the journey of re-watching the movies. we already watched the hunger games for book to movie club, but last week I watched catching fire and DAMN that movie is perfection. sooo good. alyssa and I went to see on swift horses, a new movie starring daisy edgar jones, jacob elordi, and will poulter. it was a very lovely movie! and everyone is SO HOT !!! I watched how to have sex, its not a movie I would recommend to everyone, but I really thought it was well done. and lastly for movie church I forced everyone to watch sing sing because its now streaming on max. and YOU GUYS THIS MOVIE IS SOOOO GOOD!!! i’m so pissed that it wasnt nominated for best picture because it deserves it!! if you dont have access to max and want to watch it I will literally send you my login
music: lorde dropped her new single, what was that, and I am veryyyy excited for her album to come out. pure heroine is one of my all time favorite albums ever, so I always look forward to new lorde music
in my stomach: last night I went out to dinner with some friends because our friend faith’s mom was in town. we went to a restaurant called safari, it is an east african restaurant, which was so fun to go to as i’ve never had this type of food! it was quite yummy!
well you never have to hear me talk about studying for the MPRE ever again because I finallyyyyy PASSED !!! if you remember, I first took the MPRE in March 2024 and I did not get a passing score for California because I missed one question… this was really frustrating but also not completely discouraging because I had passed in over half the country, but since each state has their own passing score, I did not pass in California or New York, grrrrr
I then took the MPRE again in November 2024. it was the day after the election and I was going through some personal things leading up to the test and I was not in my best mental state at the time, so I very much did not pass
fast forward to January 2025, I decided to take studying for the MPRE very seriously and act as if I was learning all of this information for the first time. I dedicated about 8 hours each week for three full months studying and doing practice tests and listening to podcasts and watching videos and rewriting notes to get the information IN. MY. HEAD.
something that is really frustrating about the MPRE is that a lot of people claim that it is an easy test and you only need two weeks to study. which for a lot of people it is an easier test (at least compared to the bar exam). and a good portion of people pass their first time. HOWEVER, this test is actually quite tricky and I know plenty of people that do not pass the first time and I just wish that people wouldn’t downplay this exam as it makes people that dont pass feel DUMBBBB.
okay no more ranting, i’m so excited I passed and I dont have to think about taking the MPRE again and I can just focus on the bar. I learned how to study better and smarter and I that will come in handy for bar prep!
