#84: rainy days ahead, but feeling good
met the actress of my childhood, the MCU is making a comeback, and the beginning of the end
hi hi hi sisters ♡ finals are this week, I took one this morning and i have another one friday, and then a final project for a class. so close to the end… but also feeling soooo unmotivated, cest la vie I guess. OMG we got to have swig this weekend for a pop up that happened with a makeup company, so random but it was so fun!
it looks like its going to rain for basically this whole week in new york, which is a bummer, but also its been so green so I hope the rain helps. HOWEVER, I read that according to the farmer’s almanac that this summer is supposed to be way hotter and rainier than usual…. so i’m not looking forward to that
sharing my fav substack article i read this week !!
okay calling this a favorite is a stretch because its about a man who is my least favorite person to exist, BUT this article is a really solid run through of everything that has happened in the first 100 days of trump in office…
grateful for
for making the news a little more digestablemovies: only watched two movies this week. started off strong with mockingjay part 1, i’m gaining a better appreciation for mockingjay folks !!! and then my roommates and I had a little roommate date and went and saw the newest marvel movie, thunderbolts*. YOU GUYSSSSS IT WAS SO GOOD!! like I actually want to go back and see it again. not only was it just a really good marvel movie (are we back?!?!) it was also a really beautiful movie that focused on some heavier topics of mental health and depression and suicidal thoughts and how to try to overcome these heavy thoughts. I thought that they did a brilliant job. also florence pugh is gorgeous and needs to be the center of every franchise.
podcasts: ed sheeran was on the call her daddy podcast, I really liked this interview!! he’s a pretty memeable guy, but like he is actually so sweetie and I liked getting to know him a little bit more. maybe you have seen the viral videos of the cake picnic that happened in San Francisco earlier this year, but the creator of cake picnic elisa sunga was on the cherry bombe podcast and talked all about where the idea came from and how its expanding. I love baking, and I want to get into baking more because I really do find it to be so fun
music: thanks to tiktok I am now obsessed with party 4 u by charli xcx even though it came out in 2020 haha
in my stomach: two things to share !!! had the yummiest brunch this weekend at banter, there are a couple of locations in new york and oh my goodness it was SO tasty, everything we got was delicious. big fans.
ALSO trader joes has a new sour candy out, strawberry sour belts, and holy they are soooo tasty

saturday night I went to an off-broadway play called all nighter. its about a group of college girls who are pulling their last all nighter before the last day of finals before they graduate. it was funny and deep and a really good experience. it takes place in 2014, so just months before I started college myself. which was cool to watch because john proctor is the villain, another play I saw a month or so ago, also about girls in school, takes place in 2018 for a class of juniors. so I find myself smack dab in the middle of these two plays myself. both feature themes of female friendship and the hardships that girls go through and how our friends can either help us through these moments or not.
during all nighter, I found myself relating to the tiniest of details and cracking up at some moments while feeling stressed during others. it was interesting to watch a play about college, as BYU is such a unique college experience, but at the same time it all felt so relatable.
I personally wanted to see all nighter because of the cast. its currently starring alyah chanelle scott (sex lives of college girls), annasophia robb (from our childhood !!!), julia lester (HSMTMTS), isa briones (dr. santos on the pitt), and kathryn gallagher (who i was the least familiar with but is in the new gossip girl, YOU, and other shows). each of these girls were SO amazing.
after the show we decided to do stage door, for those of you unfamiliar with this term, it is when you can wait outside a theater's stage door after a performance to meet and potentially get autographs or photos with the cast. and because I love all of these actresses it felt like something I should do. i’ve only done it a handful of times, but this time felt special. ESPECIALLY because annasophia robb is truly the actress from my childhood. she was in bridge to terabithia, because of winn-dixie, samantha the american girl doll, and then when I was in high school she starred in the carrie diaries, and I have been looking for a show that gives me that same high ever since. okay anywaysssss, we did stage door and it was so fun!! I got to tell isa that I loved her in the pitt, and that julia lester is phenomenal, and that I have loved annasophia robb for decades. ALSO I had a great interaction with alyah. she was signing our cards and complimented my bow tattoo, and then said “wait is that a little women tattoo?!” which yes it is. and then she said that that was one of the coolest tattoos she has ever seen and that she would be thinking about it for awhile. I was fan girling !!! I have pride in my tattoos and its always so nice when I get a compliment about them from someone !!! so that was perfection.

loved the show. loved the experience. I love being a girl and I love media that portrays girlhood!!!
